Can Chiropractic Care Help Your Knees Feel Better?

Utah ChiropractorWhen it comes to pain in a body none is more painful that knee pain. Knees carry all your body weight and have a tendency to “go out” without proper care.  A chiropractor not only helps with the pain around the rest of your body but are also unbeknownst to most people, can be quite surprisingly helpful with knee pain, if not associated with something that requires surgery.

Knee pain has become more common in recent times. As much as 30% of the adult population suffers from knee pain.  The knee is a complicated area as it has many ligaments, nerves, blood vessel and tendons and is use constantly every moment of every day typically.

It is impossible to prevent a knee injury, especially if someone is extremely active, especially in sports. The most common complaint when it comes to knees is the common wear and tear or osteoarthritis. While osteoarthritis is not curable, the symptoms of this are treatable with chiropractic help. Not in all cases is this true, unlike other joints throughout the body, the knee is a required joint for ambulation. Injuries to the ligaments and nerves often require surgery if/when severe enough.

There are many ways that a knee can be injured all the way from the ligaments, tendons, Meniscus and dislocated knee caps. While in many surgery is required to fix serious injuries, chiropractors can help as well. There are many reasons for these injuries and most things can be corrected by a chiropractor, which is needed to help keep the injury from getting worse.

A chiropractor will evaluate and determine the type of treatment required for your knees by watching you walk and run. Also they will measure with a Q-Angle the stress being exerted on the knee joint. The Q-angle will measure an imaginary line from between the hip, knee and the ankle. The more inward and/or outward the knee cap is to the hip and ankle, the more stress there is on the knee.

There are many signs that you should see a professional such as pain limiting your day to day activities, have been on pain killers and advised to rest and not reinjure it, restricted motion and advised you have arthritis but there is nothing that can be done.
